Terry’s House is a temporary residence for families whose loved ones are critically ill or injured and receiving care at Community Regional Medical Center.
 

The 20-room house, across the street from the hospital in downtown Fresno, was built through and is entirely maintained by gifts from the community.
 

“It was a godsend,” said Yvonne Frear, a Texas college professor who spent nine months at Terry’s House while her husband Philip recovered from a fiery truck crash. She and her mother-in-law were the first residents when Terry’s House opened in 2011.
 

“The location was perfect as it was as far as I could stand to be away from Philip, and yet, as close as I could be to Philip.”

Since its January 2011 opening Terry’s House has provided lodging for 2,583 families from:

• 42 states
• 22 countries
• 3 U.S. Territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, Mariana Islands)
• 52% of families at Terry’s House are attending to a patient recovering from a burn or trauma
