PAINTBALL CHALLENGE..? YES, please!

Since we broke ground on Terry’s House in early 2010, our very own Community employees have embraced this place as their own. They not only contributed to the building of the project, but still today continue to help buy supplies and regularly volunteer to cook a meal for our guests. A few have even held fundraisers among the social and civic groups they belong to!

Jacob Cota, a surgical technician in Community Regional’s emergency department, is one of them! He is organizing a paintball challenge with a local television station’s crew to help out Terry’s House! Jacob says he and about 15 to 25 hospital employees get together once a month to play paintball for fun. Sometimes they've run into KSEE 24 employees doing the same thing. .. So, they recently challenged the KSEE crew to a match, and... to make it more interesting, they decided to pick a charity to benefit from the game. Lucky for us, it's going to be Terry's House!

Fresno’s Regional Sports Complex, where the group plays, has lowered its price so that $10 of each entrance and equipment rental fee will be collected for Terry’s House. Jacob is inviting others to get involved or to just come out and enjoy the barbecue they’re also setting up as a Terry’s House fundraiser. A local meat market has donated food for the barbecue so most proceeds from the sale of meals will go to Terry’s House. And, Jacob says if people can’t make it that day, consider just making a straight out donation to the house.

Here’s the 4-1-1 on what should be a really fun time for a great cause:

WHEN: 10 a.m. on Saturday May 19
WHERE: Regional Sports Complex at 1707 W. Jensen in Fresno
WHAT:  $22 covers the cost of entrance and rental of paint gun, mask, and air tank with unlimited refills. (Paintballs are not included in the price and can only be purchased at the paintball field or a at Maximum Paintball in Fresno, Jacob says. And there’s a $5 entrance fee for each car.) What a deal!!!

Those interested in supporting Terry's House directly can make a gift easily online at TerrysHouseFresno.com.

Thanks for thinking of us Jacob and friends! We look forward to an exciting and fun day!
