We would like to recognize our facility maintenance and engineering staff for all they do to optimize our hospital’s physical environment during National Health Care Facilities and Engineering Week, October 23-29, 2016.

They are important members of the health care team – keeping our facility operational, safe, and efficient. Because of all they do, there is power, running water, and a safe healing environment for everyone who walk through our doors. What you may think is ordinary is truly extraordinary – as they are health care heroes found in, around, and behind-the-scenes of our massive 24/7 operation.

From the photo posted, you probably recognize their friendly faces or have had the pleasure of working with one of them because of an issue on your unit or even during an improvement project.  Whatever the encounter may have been or will be – they are masters of their trade, efficient, and courteous, and treat staff, patients and visitors like a VIP.

Their home base may be across the tracks on Merced Street or the Central Energy Plant, but they are everywhere on our campus making a difference.  Please take the time to help me thank them for their contribution to our facility operations.
