This hits close to home for me as I have a dear friends whose family members are in regular need of these services and I personally have a close family member that benefits. Just as importantly as addressing a physical condition, behavioral health concerns can impact the overall health and wellbeing of dear ones. I’ll be deeply honest, it is very painful to watch someone suffering with an mind-altering incident that vexes them.
I ache for them that they are unable to cope at times and resort to very damaging behaviors…towards themselves and often, others. I admire and thank all of you that are caregivers that specialize in this area, and those of you who deliver it peripherally as well, you are to be commended. It is truly a special person who can look beyond the traumatic event and the untoward conduct to see the desperate need for compassion, understanding, and skilled intervention.
Blessings to you and I hope that mental health always gets the same attention that medical conditions receive when it comes to research, resources, and benefits coverage.
