Dr. Rais Vohra stepped into his role of Interim Health Officer for Fresno County Department of Public Health just a few months before COVID-19 hit the county. As if it weren’t enough to work in emergency medicine at Community Regional Medical Center and serve as lead for the region’s Poison Control Center, this professor of clinical medicine and pharmacy at UCSF Fresno led our region of more than 1 million residents as we faced what became the biggest health crisis in our lifetime.

As the virus spread throughout the world, Dr. Vohra worked to keep Fresno County residents protected and informed. He and his crew worked tirelessly to provide the latest and most updated communications, and brought local agencies together to collaborate throughout the pandemic.

Thank you, Dr. Vohra, for all your hard work — we appreciate your dedication!
