Give Terry’s House families a meal
Having a loved one in the hospital can be challenging time. After you've sat at your loved one's bedside all day, the last thing you want to think about is cooking a meal for yourself. That's why hosting a meal means so much to the families at Terry's House. And when you’re serving a meal with love, you get to experience the togetherness of Terry’s House and the thankfulness of our guests.
Hosting a meal is not only a fun way to give back, it’s a fantastic bonding experience for any group! Bring your friends, family, co-workers, church groups, or community group and be what makes Terry’s House a home.

We are located directly across the street from Community Medical Regional Center at 2730 Fresno Street Fresno, CA 93721.
Host a Meal FAQs
The calendar below will show you what meals have already been reserved.
We can serve up to 20 families staying at Terry's House, with a max of 72 guests. If your group wishes to stay and eat too, please factor this into your planning. Call in advance for an accurate guest head count.
Breakfast is served at 8:30 a.m., Lunch at 12:30 p.m., Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Your group and meal will be listed on our calendar. Our families are thankful for and look forward to the volunteer made meals, so if you must cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled date, please notify us immediately at (559) 459-7200.
Total time averages about three hours. To start preparing your meal you may come as early as needed depending on cook/meal preparation. Please allow about one hour for clean-up.
There is no limit to the number of volunteers you can have in your group. Children of all ages are welcome as long as they are supervised by an adult at all times.
Our kitchen is fully stocked with two ovens, four ranges, two microwaves, pots, pans, utensils, ice/water machine, and coffee pots. You may bring your own kitchen tools and equipment if you wish, but make sure to take them when you leave. We are not responsible for any tools, equipment, or personal items left behind.
Please bring paper plates/bowls, napkins, disposable flatware, dishware for leftovers, and cups. Alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted.
Your meal may be as simple or elaborate as you wish. We have no food restrictions, so you may provide any menu of your choice, but please keep in mind options for those who may be gluten-free, vegetarian/vegan or have sensitivities to spiciness or have tree nut allergies. If you’re not sure what to make, contact the Volunteer Coordinator to get helpful meal ideas.
We require any raw products (meats, fruits, vegetables, etc.) to be prepared in our kitchen. There are a few exceptions such as baked goods, meals catered by a restaurant, pre-made food from grocery stores (ex: sandwich tray), and food prepared in the health department approved kitchens (some churches and schools).
Lot #4 next to Terry’s House is available for parking. All parking stalls will have signage and guests and volunteers are welcome to park in any designated space.
A staff member will be on duty at the front desk to answer questions and assist with anything your group needs.
Every hosted meal flyer is posted in our lobby on every door and next to our guest sign-in sheet. The front desk staff will notify families.
Yes, we're always in need of canned and dry goods, as well as basic everyday household items (toilet paper, laundry soap, etc.) We have a wish list available with our most needed items.
