From Diagnosis through Survivorship

We believe great cancer care involves treating the whole-person — not just fighting the cancer. Our team of Master’s-level trained oncology social workers specialize in the unique and complex needs of patients and their loved ones, providing services that support you through diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and survivorship.

Patient and family support

Our social workers address the emotional, social and practical complexities that impact your quality of life and pose barriers to care. These services are free and available to all of our patients:

  • Personalized assessment of your needs
  • Supportive counseling for patients, caregivers and family members
  • Guidance with having difficult conversations with children, family and loved ones
  • Education to ensure you are making informed medical decisions regarding care
  • Training to develop coping skills that sustain a positive self-image and life purpose
  • Grief, loss and bereavement support
  • Assistance with advance care planning
  • Support with end-of-life concerns
  • Therapy for anxiety or depression related to diagnosis
  • Crisis intervention

We also help patients and families connect with:

  • Community resources
  • Spiritual support
  • Complementary and integrative wellness programs

If you or your loved one is struggling with the impact of a cancer diagnosis and would like help, please reach out to us or ask your physician for a referral. We’re here to walk this journey with you and support you in whatever way we can.
