Carlos M. Juarez, M.D., FACS

Clovis Community Weight-Loss Surgery Center is a full-service surgical destination for patients seeking solutions for obesity and obesity-related diseases. Led by one of our board-certified surgeons, Dr. Carlos Juarez, our program offers the highest caliber of care available across Central California and beyond.

Dr. Carlos Juarez, MD, FACS, is an early adopter of minimally-invasive laparoscopic approaches to surgery with over 20 years of experience in robotic-assisted bariatric procedures. He's passionate about his work with patients and is committed to providing faster, safer surgical outcomes.

He attended medical school at the University of California at San Francisco, graduating in 1990. Dr. Juarez then went on to complete his surgical residency at UCSF in Fresno, California in 1995. He’s board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and licensed to practice medicine in California. Dr. Juarez also is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons – one of the highest honors for surgeons in the United States.

Dr. Juarez began his professional career in 1996 and quickly rose to prominence for his attention to detail, surgical performance, and clinical expertise. During his time as a partner with Surgical Associates of Fresno Medical Clinic, Inc., he founded the highly respected California Bariatrics in 2004. Soon after, he took over as the head surgeon at Clovis Community Weight-Loss Surgery Center. 

In addition to his work with the Clovis Community Weight-Loss Surgery Center, Dr. Juarez also holds admission privileges at Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital and Community Regional Medical Center. He serves as an active member of the quality assurance committees at Clovis Community and Fresno Heart & Surgical as well. He's previously served as Chairman of the Surgical Department at Community Medical Centers.

For Dr. Juarez, weight loss is a top priority. He’s always willing to meet with new patients about clinical weight-loss opportunities. He realizes that bariatric surgery plays an important role in the world of healthcare and is eager to help members of the community lose weight and live happy and healthy lives.
