2019 Community Health Needs Assessment
The 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), is a joint effort among more than a dozen hospitals in Fresno, Kings, Madera and Tulare counties and facilitated by the Hospital Council of Northern & Central California. Together we have worked to address the most pressing health needs of our region.
More than 1,000 community members, leaders and key stakeholders representing low-income and vulnerable populations provided primary data through focus groups, one-on-one interviews and an online survey. Secondary data reported by federal and state sources was also referenced. This study is one of three parts of a federally mandated report required of all tax-exempt hospitals every three years, but in our region we view this as an opportunity to partner with local organizations to improve health outcomes for the entire Central Valley.
