Leave a lasting legacy

We all have a desire to build something that will last beyond our time. Building and growing an exceptional healthcare system for future generations can be a part of your legacy. With your commitment, you can help improve and save lives today and for years to come.

Your planned gift can support any department or program at Community Health System. You can designate your funds to support burn care, cancer care, Terry’s House, neuroscience, neonatal intensive care (NICU), trauma or the area of greatest need — or any area that touches your heart.

We can work with you to include language in your will or trust to designate “Community Health System, Office of Philanthropy” as a beneficiary. There are several ways to do this:

  • A dollar amount
  • A specific asset
  • A percentage of your estate
  • The remainder of your estate

Retirement plans

Donating your retirement assets, like a 401(k) or IRA, is an excellent strategy for fulfilling your charitable goals. Retirement assets left to family are often significantly depleted through estate and income taxes.

By designating “Community Health System, Office of Philanthropy” as the beneficiary:

  • The full value of the gift is transferred to the hospitals tax free

  • Your estate receives a charitable deduction

Life insurance

Gifting a life insurance policy can also greatly reduce your taxable estate while creating a lasting legacy for your community. We’re available to answer your questions and work hand-in-hand with you to customize a plan to fit your needs.
