Always have Naloxone (“Narcan”) with you in case somebody overdoses.
You should always have Naloxone in your pocket since it can save somebody’s life just by spraying it into the back of their nose after an overdose.
Naloxone (Narcan) is available for FREE in the Emergency Department.
Please ask the doctor/nurse for one before leaving. You do not need to register in the ED to receive a kit. There is a no questions asked policy for this program. Community agencies and schools can request Narcan trainings and substance use disorder education as well.
(Medication Assisted Treatment Clinics)
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) clinics are ideal for individuals struggling with opioid addiction, including those who have not succeeded with other treatment methods or are at high risk of overdose. These clinics provide a supportive environment that combines safe medications with counseling to help patients achieve and maintain recovery.
