It is one of Community Medical Centers' four acute care facilities and provides a safe environment for patients needing 24/7 intensive, inpatient psychiatric treatment. Patients can be admitted either by walking in or through a hospital transfer.

Community Behavioral Health Center features four units providing tailored levels of care for patients with primary psychiatric diagnoses. The center can treat dual diagnosis patients, as long as their care needs primarily relate to psychiatric symptoms.
If accepted, a patient can be transferred to Community Behavioral Health Center for psychiatric care after they are determined to be medically stable.
